DYNAMIC FOUR DOOR SPORT

THE Porce Panamera is a four door ,four-seat luxury sedan, which was unveiled to the public at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show. One of the highlights of the Panamera's debut was fitting the car in the freight elevator of the Shanghai World Financial Centre and sending to the skyscraper's 94th floor.
Channel4,in its latest car review, describes Panamera as the most dynamic four -door car currently in the market.Autoblog says in its online review of the car,"Unlike the BMW M5,Audi S6,and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG-all competent family sedans guissied-up to masquerade as sport sedans-the porsche Panamera is built with the sole objective of being the only clean-sheet high performance sport sedan in the segment.Even the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG,arguably one of the Panamera's closest competitors, pales in performance."For people who enjoy ample space in a car,Panamera may not be appeal to them as its size limits agility. It is not as spacious as it could be.
Acces is easy despite the very low seating position, and the ambience is lounge-like with comfortable seats and high quanlity materials leather, suedey roof lining, aluminium and wood trim. The scalloped roof lining also means-at six feet two inches -there is a solid inch of headroom when practising the best posture, and a whole lot more at a slounch. The top-of-the -range Turbo is the easiest to understand:shatteringly fast,it also has superb poise on rough roads and faultless stability.
Eslewhere, things are less straightforward as the mid-range 4S can feel slower than its 400bhp would suggest, with the complex transmission sometimes struggling to decide what next. The two-wheel-drive S manual-which still has massive amounts of grip-may be found preferable to the 4S in many ways. The picture might even get more cloudier when the range is extended to incorporate a V6 engine in 2010 and a hybrid power plant 2011.
Overall, the Porshce has the strenght you will expect from the marque;high standards of it build quality, supreme road-holding abilities, performance in spades and great poise.Porsche buyers, who want the space of cayenne, but not the height, will love it.Its a highly impressive car.The ride is Mercedes S-class smooth in the softest in three of suspension settings;the seven-speed dual -clutch PDK gearbox manages to be both silky smooth at car park speed and engagingly direct-with no loss of refinement-as faster speeds;and the V8 is a perch. For the most part you'll barely hear the engine, but accelerate hard and dramatic V8 hammering seeps into the cabin as the power builds with a lovely, creamy linearity to the 6500rpm redline.
The Panamera is said to pamper its occupants with yards of leather, fine wood(or carbon fibre),aluminium trim, and high quality plastics.A long,button-laden centre console runs the length of the cabin, effectively keeping passengers divided as optional multi-zone temperature controls (up to four) adjust each occupant's microclimate.
Overhead, another console controls cabin lighting and the sunroof. While intimidating at first glance, the sea of buttons are logically placed into quadrants of climate control, suspension setting, vehicle setting, and other emergency (hazard lights door locks etc). After some familiarisation, their individual operations are readily absorbed. Active aerodynamics is standard equipment on all variants of the Panamera, but they alter slightly based on trim level.Recalling the test driving experience of the car in a report by Autoblog two about a month ago,Micheal Harley says,"In its softest setting, and at low speed,Panamera drives like most other large German luxury sedans.Unlike a 911,it feels heavy and substantial around town-especailly pulling away from a standstill when the laws of physics have to be coaxed to release the two-ton Porsche.

Style Drive

Once upon a time, you bought BMW for performance,Audi for style and Mercedes for luxury and prestige. An auto analyst,Jay Shoemaker,in a piece from The Truth About Cars, says Mercedes has dail-up style and sport in the new E-class coupe, which makes the choice of one ofthe three alternatives more difficult than ever. Closely related to the new ninth -generation 2010E-class Sedan, this fifth-generation E coupe-with its flowing lines and lower profile-is aim at buyer looking for style, performarce and handling. Like its four-door counter part, the new E-class Coupe share core elements, such as its newly designed suspension with the current C class.Yet,its never strays far from it fundamental values that have made the midsize E class the heart of Mercedes-Benz lineup for more than 60years:luxury,solidity safety and promise of great durability. Now you can add value to that list, say Marc Lachapelle of MSN. According to the writer, the new E class Coupe will initially be offered in two versions:E350 and E550-basically defined by the engine size, like the CLK Coupe, which they replace. The new Coupe are powered by the same engines as the last generation of CLKs,albeit with some efficiency gain. The E350 gets a3.5litre V6 and the E550 is equipped with 5.5litre V8.Unlike the Sedan, there are no plans for all-four-wheel drive 4matic version of the Coupes, and Mercedes-Benz also believe there is no need for higher performance AMG versions, considering the performance of E550 sport model. On the other hand,an E-Class cabriolet drop-top should lunch in the spring of 2010. The new E-class Coupe cast a large shadow than last CLK Coupe:Its body is 1.76inches and 1.81inches wider. It is also lower by a significant 2.89inches and rides on a 1.76inches-longer wheelbase, which accentuates its smooth, coupelike profile.European version have a drag coefficient of 0.24,but the number goes up to 0.28 with the U.S.versions' wider tires. With the gain in size and addition of several new features and systems weight is up,but just a bit:The E350 is heavier by 97 pounds and E550 by 61 pounds.
The car Connection,an online auto reviewer, provide the unique features of the car."It comes with wood and leather trim,a telescoping steering wheel,Bluetooth, and an audio system with sirius Satellite Radio and an input MP3 player along with panoramic sunroof. The E550 adds its electronic suspension, new wheels and tyres.Options include a Sport package with AMG-style wheels;a voice activated navigation system with hard-drive music storage;premium leather;and Harman/Kardon premium audio system,"it says.
It may no longer be a sporty competitor for the BMW 3-Series Coupe-and that may be exactly what Mercedes has in mind with the 2010 E-Class Coupe. As it's grown, the E-Class has taken some styling risks while keeping it more conversative driving character intact. With what,it has created a class of its own;the luxury coupe that makes it statement on style and speed.
The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe brings four-passenger seating and high style to price point that rises above it old rival, the BMW 3-Series Coupe.Still, shoppers for premium coupes will look at the BMW two-door,which has also grown herftier in it latest version. The BMW handles more crisply and steers truer, but it's no more handsome and has a bit less interior room than E-Class Coupe. The Audi A5 sits in the same size class as the BMW;it's probably the best-looking of the bunch and come in an exciting S5 edition that's among the most highly rated cars of 'Thecarconnection.com'.The lexus IS Convertible is brand-new and has a folding hardtop,a more generous backseat, and price tag substantially lower than the Mercedes.
Like the larger CL-Class Coupes, the new E350 and E550 have four power side windows but no B-pillar,for a clean, hardtop look with all the windows down. Both models gets a standard Panorama roof,a glass panel that covers the entire roof surface and can be titled or slid open widely. The E550 is most visibly set apart from the E350 by its standard 18-inch wheels, larger chin spoiler, more sculpted side skirts and lower rear fascia. It also has larger, drilled disc brakes painted calipers, and its dual chrome exhaust tips are trapezoidal while the E350 gets oval tips.Inside, the E550 also gets a 3-spoke sport steering wheel with shift paddles.
Coupes are all about styling, but these two bear the Mercedes star and thus come with a full complement of safety systems. They are the latest iterations of the requisite anti-lock brake and stability control systems, but are also equipped with the radar-based PRE-SAFE brake system and nine airbags. Also standardised is'Attention Assist'a device that monitors steering angle and 70 other variables to detect signs of driver fatigue. It can be teamed with optional lane keeping system, which uses a high-mounted camera to read painted lines on the road to alert the driver if the car wanders from its lane.
Another option is Adaptive Highbeam assist,a system that automatically adjust the intensity and pattern of the low beams for oncoming traffic. It is combined with the optional bi-xenon headlights that pivot into turns in sync with steering angle.
